Welcome to Newcastle Ragdolls. My name is Donna Maree, and I am a registered Ragdoll breeder based in the Newcastle region of NSW.
I raise Ragdoll kittens for loving homes across Newcastle, the Hunter Region, Sydney, the Central Coast and wider NSW. My focus is on health, temperament and care. I want every kitten to leave my home feeling safe, loved and ready for their new family.
Ragdolls are known for their soft nature, blue eyes and affectionate personalities. They are usually calm, gentle cats that enjoy being close to their people. This makes them a lovely choice for many families, couples, retirees and first-time cat owners.
Breeding Ragdolls is a big responsibility. It is not just about producing kittens. It involves planning, health testing, daily care, vet work, socialisation and support for each new family. This page explains how I approach Ragdoll breeding and what is included when you adopt a kitten from me.
My Approach to Ragdoll Breeding
I breed Ragdolls with care and purpose. I want my kittens to grow into healthy, affectionate and confident cats.
Before I plan a litter, I look closely at the health, nature and quality of my breeding cats. I also consider colour, pattern and type. Just as important, I look at temperament. A beautiful Ragdoll should also have the gentle, loving nature the breed is known for.
I do not believe families should feel rushed when choosing a kitten. It is a big decision. If you are looking for a Ragdoll breeder in NSW, I am happy to answer questions and explain the process. I want you to feel comfortable before you make a choice.
Health Testing and Vet Care
Health is very important to me. I DNA test for PKD, which is Polycystic Kidney Disease, and HCM, which is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. These are inherited health conditions that can affect cats.
My breeding cats are tested and clear of these markers. This means my kittens are clear by parentage. Health testing gives families peace of mind when choosing a Ragdoll kitten.
Before leaving for their new homes, my kittens are also checked by my veterinarian. They are desexed, microchipped and toilet trained. They also receive their first and second F3 vaccinations. They are treated for ticks, fleas, worms and ear mites as well.
Each kitten goes home with a certificate of good health from my vet. This helps you know your kitten has been properly checked before adoption.

Raising Kittens in a Loving Home
The first weeks of a kitten’s life are very important. This is when they learn to trust people. They also learn to use their litter tray, explore safely and settle into a routine.
I spend time with my kittens every day. I handle them, watch their personalities and help them grow in confidence. Some kittens are playful and bold. Others are quieter and more gentle. Each kitten is different.
This is why I like to understand your home and lifestyle before helping you choose a kitten. A busy family may suit a confident kitten. A quieter home may suit a softer nature. My aim is to help match the right kitten with the right family.
Ragdoll Kitten Prices and What Is Included
Many people search for Ragdoll kitten prices in NSW before choosing a breeder. That is understandable. A Ragdoll kitten is a big commitment, and it is important to know what is included.
My kitten prices start from $2,200. The final price may depend on the kitten’s pattern, markings and quality. Show or breed quality kittens are priced individually. Retired adult Ragdolls start from $650 when available.
The price of a well-bred Ragdoll kitten includes a lot of care before the kitten ever leaves me. It includes quality food, health testing, vet checks, vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, parasite treatment and toilet training. It also includes NSW Pet Registry requirements, pedigree registration and support for the new family.
When comparing Ragdoll kittens for sale in NSW, it helps to ask what is included in the price. A cheaper kitten may not include the same level of vet care, testing, registration or support. I believe families should know exactly what they are paying for.
Pedigree Registration and NSW Pet Registry
My kittens are registered for their pedigrees after their families choose their names. Once this is complete, the pedigree papers are mailed to the new owners.
I also make sure each kitten is Lifetime Registered with the NSW Pet Registry before leaving. I handle this process for you. This makes things easier when your kitten comes home.
Pedigree registration matters because it gives you a clear record of your kitten’s background. It also helps protect the Ragdoll breed and supports responsible breeding in NSW.

Choosing a Ragdoll Breeder in NSW
Choosing a Ragdoll breeder should feel calm and clear. You should be able to ask questions and receive honest answers.
Before choosing a kitten, I suggest asking about health testing, vaccinations, desexing, microchipping, feeding, socialisation and registration. You may also want to ask about kitten prices, waiting times, transport and support after adoption.
A responsible breeder should care about where their kittens are going. I like to know a little about each family, their home and what they are looking for in a Ragdoll. This helps me guide you towards a kitten that may suit you well.
On the odd occasion, I may keep a kitten for breeding as they develop. If this happens, the next suitable available kitten will be offered.
Support for Families Across NSW
Newcastle Ragdolls is based in the Newcastle region, but I help families from many areas of NSW. This includes Newcastle, the Hunter Region, Sydney and the Central Coast.
I offer free delivery to Sydney and the Central Coast. This can help if you cannot drive, live too far away or have a busy schedule. I want the adoption process to feel simple and safe for both you and your kitten.
Before your kitten leaves, I also provide care information sheets. These cover feeding, grooming, toileting, settling in and general care. I am also only a phone call away if you need help after your kitten comes home.
